| Has anyone seen the can opener We make budget cakes for various reasons. Sometimes it is the end of the week and we seem to be out of certain ingredients, plus extra money. There are 3 eggs in the fridge and the sugar and flour bins are low. Let's check out some of the delicious cakes that our grandma's made in the 1940's. Times for many of these cooks were hard, but leanness never altered the fact that families must be fed, and little young un's craved a slice of sweetness. Many of the recipes were more healthful because they were not packed with extra ingredients. So grab those eggs.
